Frequently Asked Questions

Renovating or building a home is far more than just a technical process. It is one of the most exciting, complex, and at times, stressful milestones you will experience in life. The transition from dream to reality naturally brings with it countless critical decisions, questions, and uncertainties.

That is completely natural, and that is exactly why I am here.

I have compiled the most frequently asked questions that arise along the way to help bring you clarity, lower your stress levels, and give you the peace of mind you deserve—from our very first meeting until the moment you receive the key.

As early as possible - the moment you start considering a renovation or purchasing a property. This allows the designer to influence the planning process, ensuring the property is tailored perfectly to your needs.

When should you contact an interior designer?

Every project is unique. It depends on the scope of services the designer provides and the stage at which you seek their assistance. A designer’s involvement can span from the very beginning of a project to its completion—often lasting a year or even longer. That is why it is so important to choose a designer with whom you share a genuine connection.
An introductory meeting is an essential step in this process.

How long does the escort last?

How do you manage the budget during the project so as not to exceed it?

Right from the initial scoping stage, we establish a clear budget framework. Every design choice, material, or contractor is evaluated against this framework, giving you full control and complete financial transparency every step of the way.
However, since unexpected surprises can always arise in the construction industry, it is highly recommended to set aside a contingency budget. This ensures we meet all project goals and avoid reaching the finish line financially strained or with an incomplete project.

Does the service include physical arrival at the site
and inspection of the professionals?

Absolutely. As part of an end-to-end service, I visit the site at critical key points.Such as plumbing, electrical, finishing, carpentry, and more to ensure that the professionals in the field carry out the work precisely according tothe architectural work plans I produced.

What is the difference between an interior designer and an architect,
and when do we need which?

An architect handles the building shell, structural engineering, and submitting permits to the authorities, while an interior designer focuses on the living experience – including interior space planning, ergonomics, systems (electrical, plumbing, lighting), custom carpentry, and styling.

For projects in existing apartments or houses, as long as the building facades and openings (such as exterior windows) remain untouched, comprehensive and complete interior renovations can be executed with only an interior designer as the lead project manager.

However, if an interior designer is involved early enough in a new build or a comprehensive renovation, they have the ability to influence and alter the building shell as well (such as the placement and size of windows and openings) to align them perfectly with the interior space. In such cases, the interior designer plans these alterations, but the signature and submission of an architect are typically required for the authorities to obtain the necessary permits.

What happens if we have existing furniture or items
that are important to us to keep?

It is absolutely possible, and it actually adds so much character to a home. That said, a renovation or build is also the perfect opportunity to declutter, let go of items you no longer need, and upgrade where possible. During the planning phase, we will map out the pieces you wish to keep, measure them, and integrate them directly into the plans and 3D renderings to ensure they blend in perfect harmony with the new design.

Are we obligated to work exclusively with the professionals

and vendors you recommend?

Absolutely not—the choice is always entirely yours. While I have a trusted network of vendors and contractors whom I work with and highly recommend, you are welcome to bring your own. If you have a specific contractor or supplier you would like to bring onto the project, I would be more than happy to collaborate with them. I will provide them with the exact same precise set of plans to ensure a flawless result.
